threw the .080 in there today, in the feed right off oil block. Helped a lot, going to jump down to .7 ish tomorrow and keep going until its better. Really how much oil do these turbos need? Mine are journal bearing, and with the -4an feed line and 60 ish psi of oil pressure, that was a TON of oil, i was stunned when i threw clear line on the drain and saw all that oil! I would just like some general info on turbo oiling i guess since im new at it. How much oil really do they need, when do you know if they dont have enough, etc. just any info you have! Thanks!

I am also interested in a response to this..... How much do they really need and what it to little. I know how to restrict it. I just don't know when I have starved it.

It doesn't matter if you put the restrictor at the turbo or at the block. You can run a much smaller jet at the turbo since it feeds out directly into the journal. I ran a .016 jet for two years before selling the kit which is still running today (4 years later). I like running at the turbo but that will double your costs.

Ultimately, this doesn't require very exact science. You will be surprised how much oil will get through the jet. You need about 15psi. If you are curious about volume, pull your drain line off the pan or pump and run the car for a quick second to see how much drains out. A pencil thick stream is more than enough.

Oh yea, i replaced all my drain hose with clear line for a little while so i got to see all that crap drain and WOW it was a lot. Im going to continue swapping to a lower jet at the feed until it stops leaking then i'll be good. Thanks for the info! I am using it at the feed due to the turbos being low and a PITA to get at the feeds so changing until i got the right jet would be a bitch and a half, and also Turbo Tech suggested putting it at the feed for best results, thanks again!

Why don't you want to run those inexpensive aluminum function 7 pieces? I got a couple, one restricted (.050") and one non. Real cheap for what you get, and they come with gaskets, and bolts.

ok, i'll say it again..... the placement of my turbos makes it a PITA to get at the turbos to continuously change restrictors until i get the right size. Everyone here is preaching to me about these function7 pieces, same exact thing im using except im not using the flange.... whats the big deal? I have nitrous jets to my access so i can try until i get the right size, and getting at the turbo feed is where turbo tech suggested and much easier to get at. Also, i have 2 turbos, so i would have to buy 2 function7 thingy's and then probably a few more to play with until i got the right size and they would be much more of a PITA. The nitrous fitting fits right in the fitting off my oil block perfectly and seals to the feed hose.
