Breaking in turbo engine with turbo or without?

Breaking in turbo engine with turbo or without? Ill be breaking it in on the street...should I break it in with the full 12psi..or start out with 4 and work my way up? I like the "moto" method..but it doesnt seem like it would be safe to break it in like that throwing 12psi at it. Any suggestions?

Hit it with 12psi off the bat?...I wont ruin the rings by throwing that much boost at it off the initial start up? I was told a bunch of different things like running with the turbo unhooked, or run 4psi for a few hundred THEN 12.. I know the moto method says to beat on it..which is why I was hesitant to throw 10psi as it off the bat. Anyone wanna explain in detail how they broke theirs in?

i am speaking from expeirience with diesels and the only way to seat the rings properly is to run the engine after initial cam break in at full throtle for a extended period of time on the dyno under load, if this is not done their you will have blow by issues and you will not make your full power potential but again i am speaking from a diesel standpoint so your best bet is to contact a well known turbo shop or something, hope that helps

Ive always been told to run it at the boost level the engine will be seeing. Like everyone else said becuase of blow by issues and to seat the rings. But best bet is to call a turbo specailty shop and ask.

so...set everything up how im going to run it..get it up and running right and then take it out (i have a 5 mile straight back road)..and just beat the **** out of it?
I asked texas speed....who i bought my block from, and they had a pretty thorough answer that DID NOT involve high rpms or full throttle for at least a couple hundered miles.

My biggest concern will be getting all of the bugs out of the system after startup... I would imagine you're going to have less startup issues running it at a lower PSI. Talk to whoever supplied your block FTW.
