who would have thought all you needed to do is run C16 to stop LS1 heads from lifting.

Hey KP, you don't need an aftermarket block, just a splash of C16

Actually time before last whe I was pushing the most water ever I was using C-16

If its detonating then it would help but if its not it wont do much except drain your wallet fast at 10.00 a gallon

He probably didn't run on the strip at all. There is just as much, if not more action on the streets at the TX2K meets. He still has a stock rear as well, were you hoping for a ring gear blowing run?

I think he replaced the stock rear a few months back...

I wasn't racing anyone when it happened. I was just doing some blasts for fun

got the car all torn apart, found a few other problems that would have turned bad soon.

I saw a post about AFR recalling their heads because of poor valve metalurgy some time back, I didn't want to take apart the car at the time so I set that aside, well now that I have everything out, I have some valve heads that were about to pop off the locks they wore so far down so I need to follow up with AFR.

Can't see anythign interesting from the gasket, but hte same look KP had on his, all cyls blowing to the outside (bottom between the head bolts). No marks noticed on the top side.

Other then that I inspected the block for the cracks W2W posted about a while back on their high HP drag LS1&2 blocks and found nothing

Everythign still looks great on the bottom end. Time to freshen it up now, pictures to follow later.

Glad to hear you didnt find any major problem when you tore it down. Are you going to stick with the same combo?

HEy Tiago are you running the L-19 studs cause they have fixed a lot of poeple's problems that were lifting heads etc...? If not you might go ahead and throw some on there and now you know where most of the metal you find on your drain plug was comming from (Valves, Keepers, and rockers) I bet the bottom end is fine.

The AFR valve thing kinda sucks, I hope they recalled all the heads that were still on the shelf and checked them. Mine were just bought but they were on the shelf for a while.

At least you will get a fresh set of heads back for no cost, lucky you didnt drop a valve..
