Default FI guys and your fuel systems

i have Speed inc rails already on the car, and what i am now wondering is if 60# injectors and a dual 255 intank setup in the same returnless style system i have now will support 550-700 rwhp.

if this setup will work, what is the suggested method for wiring up the dual pumps? one like normal then another off of a hobbs switch at X amount of boost?

what about both all of the time?

thanks guys

Louie

I run dual 255's all the time off an 8 guage hot wire on a relay. This is with a return line & Boost ref regulator system.

Most guys run the second pump on a hobbs switch. I believe ryan k did over 650 rwhp without a BR regulator with dual 255's and mototron 60#'s, this was on an auto tranny.

ok, if i decided to stay with the returnless style system and put it to the limits, it not work out so well, and then i want to run a return line. what would be involved?

a boost referenced FPR and a return line would have to be ran.. no sweat. however where to i run the return line to on the tank??

Thanks

I have essentially the same setup on my car. I have a dual Walbro 255 sytem with Speed Inc's Mototron 60# injectors. I have a HOBBS switch that kicks in the second fuel pump at 4#'s of boost. The second fuel pump is ran off of the same fuel lines that the first pump runs off of. This system is easy, and works well as my car is proof of that. It should easily support up to 900 RWHP as well.

The factory system has a return....

I used the factory feed as a new return and use a FMFPR... makes idle NICE and easy since pressure is pulled under VAC. Plus you get to set your IFR table up in a nice straight line. I run pump#2 off of a hobbs switch. With meth, I run 16psi on pump gas with this setup. The car made 590RWHP at 10psi pig-rich, so it should be doing much better at 16psi with the AFR at 10.6-10:8:1 with meth. The SOTP dyno says hells yeah to the extra 6psi

check out pics of my dual pump set-up. I used a -6 return, which you can see the blue/red AN fitting on the top of the bucket (at the bottom of the pic) on one of those little nipple things. The blue fitting on the lid is the feed.....-8.

hmm...

where is the factory return line at? i changed the rails, and have my fuel from the tank going to the back of the driver side, the crossover to the passenger side on the front of both and the back of the passenger side blocked off....

and is it going to be ok if i just mainly leave the rest just how it is, and run the dual intank pumps, and 60#ers?

Thanks
Louie

Squeezing two in the bucket takes quite a bit of creativity. 2 pumps with big injectors, lines and rails should feed 1000 plus hp.

Agreed, since the dual Walboros will support over 1000 RWHP, what would the need really be to run a 3rd??

The stock return line can be found at the top of the fuel tank. I'll try to post a pic of it on my car.

Here's the pic. The return line (I believe) is the one that is in the middle that is disconnected in the pic.

You'll have to follow the line from underneath the car and find out. (My car is still in its winter storage in Indiana, so I can't go out and look for you).

The factory feed line T's just in front of the rear axle on the driver side. The return line goes back to the tank from there.

The factory fuel return line is just after the fuel filter under the car. The fuel pressure regulator is in the tank, connected to the return line.
