Roadie, my setup is almost identical to that. I was wondering about your oil drain, since I'm having smoking issues when the oil is cold. My turbo drain is pointed straight down with a 90 going over into the oil pan with little or no slope.

Are there any issues with clocking the oil drail over 45 deg like yours? I've never seen anyone do that before and it would give me a slope down into the pan that I need.

Honestly, I haven't run it hard enough to tell if there's going to be an issue yet. I don't believe so since it's just a high pressure to low pressure flow, with gravity helping to clear the low pressure path for you. Mine is clocked to right around 30 degrees.

Since yours only does it when the oil is cold, it could be that the pressure combined with the thickness of oil is keeping it from flowing through the turbo fast enough (IOW, not drain related) and the only cure may be to use a restrictor or a thinner oil. I know a lot of people say to use a .060" oil restrictor if you have smoking problems.

with the right lines, well over 1000rwhp. If you're making more power than that, you probably should have a fuel cell and some big race setup...

Oh I totally understand... I mean.... I REALLY understand To keep A/C I boil all kinds of **** these days, and I don't mean tea. Weird fluids that few associate with boiling. I burned up things that people don't think of burning up like motor mounts, and other guys with the same kit burn up some weird elusive steering shaft inner plastic something-or-another that is incredibly difficult for many to even determine it's existence

Your car looks GREAT, and so does the work. G'luck.

Yeah... That's why my motor mounts are solid steel and my steering shaft is a custom Flaming River piece. I'm trying to avoid burning stuff up, but I have a fire extinguisher sitting in the back seat just in case. I've seen too many horror stories of fire.

1badsupersport: I agree. The SBC/LT1 will always have its place. I plan to smoke quite a few LS1s with this little setup.

Just an update for those interested, Roadie ran into an "invisible" rev limiter on the dyno @ 4800rpm... the engine wouldnt pull any higher. He has it narrowed down to the Delteq box. I guess Delteq + F.A.S.T. doesnt mix well. He is working on it though.
