Default Those who run a FMIC - how much difference did it make?

Okay heres the deal. I have a 94 z28 with a sts set-up. I'm currently running the meth. injection on high boost. But I plan to run a fmic this summer along with my meth. injection. I was just wondering how big of a difference does a fmic make? I was told it would lower my temps and also increase my horsepower. I was even told I would get more power with a intercooler then with going with a turbo cam. I know intercoolers are mostly for a saftey reason but what would be some typical gains with a fmic??

it is a WISE investment my friend, people have said that they've gained in the neighboorhood of 45rwhp...... thats a lot to me and it'll make your car THAT much safer on high boost. you might loose a little psi, but def worth the safety

Is it better to inject the meth before the fmic or after the ic ?

My IATs were like 20 - 25 degrees above ambient at 6.5psi. At same PSI levels, I was also putting down more HP and TQ than others with the same setup.

FMIC's are also for the cool look factor

you wanna inject the meth into the Intake Manifold....

I dont know what the gain would be from going with No intercooler to one Plus meth injection but when i Changed out my smaller intercooler for the big one i have now...i gained about 40rwhp just from up grading. So i can picture a bigger increase with Meth and adding a intercooler.

With an intercooler and meth, or some combination?

Why would you lose PSI???? I never get why so many people discuss this issue. RUN YOUR WG REFERENCE OFF OF THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. That way you have an accurate reading of the boost your motor sees, and don't have to worry about the infamous "PSI drop"!!!!!!!

If you have referenced it from the manifold, you probably won't have a problem. But, the amount of time it takes for the turbo to fully spool will slow down a bit. You'll notice a bit of lag, but once it kicks in full-force, you'll notice the extra power.

i ran my incons with/without i/c. both were with meth. Even though i had maxed the incon i/c, it ran better in the heat with them than without. my temps would start a lot lower off the line as well. In the winter it didnt matter so much. either way, i got about a 90 deg drop in iat using the meth but that was a LOT of meth....m10 and m15 nozzle at 150 psi

My IAT's dropped on average 40 degrees. Before FMIC = 130's to 140's! After FMIC = 90's to 100. Highly recommend one for that reason alone.

I don't have meth injection...just the FMIC. I own a STS Meth kit...but I never installed it. I need to sell it.

Yeah, I was going to say - paint it black (Eastwood radiator paint, light coat) and you could do a nice mesh grill in front of it, which is also nice for FMIC protection - a rock could do serious damage to thos little fins, and bugs will clog it quickly.

RW99 - that looks much better IMHO, plus it's stealthy...

Where do you run it off the intake? and cant you just keep it hooked up to brake booster for reference?

We have used our front mount kits with two STS turbo kits, even though we designed it to work with the ATI ProChargers. We use expensive 4 and 5 ply silicone couplers and our tubing is all mandrel bent.
