Default FI converter?

I have a delimma. My setup is almost complete, just waiting on valvetrain stuff to get here, but I still net to get a decent converter for the car. I know yank makes a good 3400 stall, but its 900$ well, if anyone has some other suggestions for a good converter that would be great. the car will most likely see only 500whp and be mainly a street car.

Pro Yank Extreme 3400 here, I love it. Its alittle tight, If I did it again, I'd go with the 3600.

$900 is on the cheap side........ Try pricing other brands.......

Well, yank here I come. After hearing some of the prices that you guys paid for converters, I think the yank is a good deal.

Yank has no "one free restall" policy, I really wish they did though...

Yank 2600 here (around $400). I had a 3400 Yank but it was way too loose for my liking, to each his own.

Care too elaborate on your choice of the 2600 converter. How does it feel at WOT comparted to the 3400 yank. Inquiring minds would like to know.

I would say it feels more like a stick car. Because this car is pretty much a 100% street car it would not take advantage of a higher stall for drag racing because it does not have the suspension or tires for it. I have to roll into it as it is to keep traction so additional stall doesn't do anything. I like big cube torque rather than less cubes and more stall to get to a decent power band. I am definitely in the minority though. Also the 214-224 cam helps in the 1000-3000 RPM range.

I'm using an Ultimate Conveter Concepts unit, after nightmarish experiences with a certain brand we won't name... It works absolutely unbelievable.
