I kept my stock heads but I upgraded my springs and pushrods. Still puts out over 500 rwhp on a stock bottom end.

Yeah it wakes up the car but with a high duration cam and the increased compression of LS6 heads, you're already creating too much compression.
He's only using it for street duty. For a killer street setup look at TR's blower cam with LQ9 heads, either ported or stock castings. You'll still have a great street car and less stress on the pistons. It's not always about max power, on street blower setups smaller cams, and a small drop in compression from the LQ9's is more power than you think, and tuning doesn't have anything to do with the compression issues. Unless you're gonna run it way fat rich or no timing. With the LQ9's you got more room to run whatever cam within reason ,and still run a bit more timing which will retain your low end torque as well.
But Urban Legend has a point. The stock 241's flow almost 240 cfm with a small runner and 10.1 compression a nice blower cam it great for low worry street setups...Good luck with everything.

I just kept stock heads and intake and bottom end, besides a cam, and springs and pushrods- i have a 7.9 pound D1SC and it put down on a mustang dyno 543rwhp and 650 at the crank..

AFR 205's are a more expensive option but they are excellent performers. I run them with mild cam & relatively low boost and get very respectable #'s

My vote go's to the Patriot stII LQ9 heads. I have them and have got good power with just a baby p-1. A good quality budget head in my opinion, and Bob recommended them

None of the above.Go T.E.A. stage 2 heads to make crazy power with your ProCharger.

If you dont have the money for patriots the stock ones with springs will do for you. Obviously you will make more with some ported ones though.

I hope Marty is wrong, I did the stage 2's on my 347 with 4" gaskets. I haven't started it yet to find out.

Those are what I have. Making 653 RWHP @85* temps through a triple disc auto and running out of fuel at 5300 RPMs. It should make some serious power when my driver box/injectors arrive.

WCCH 317's here, I know my stock LS2 has 18 more cubes, but they work great for me... 761rwhp with a tiny P1SC speaks for itself...

+1... dont give up the compression.... I dont see the point in changing the heads on a stock bottom end anyways, the blower and a cam will make more than enough power to destroy the stock rods and pistons.

I can thank Slowhawk for making 566rwhp out of a stock 98 longblock.... never even had the heads off the car
