Without going into all of the other bullshit that this thread has turned into I offer this to your question - The key part of the question asked to you in my opinion is "on the street" and my answer would be no, it would not be worth it. The reason for this is that I would think that one would be spending a majority of their time on some type of radial tire and as such even a 346-c.i. motor with a 76-78mm T4 would be a handfull. Bottom line is that on the street with a truly daily driven street car (A/C, O.D. Tranny and the like) there is only so much one is going to be able to do without spending an azzload of money. There are too many LS1's running around with a 76-mm turbo on stock cubes with truck heads and automatic o.d. trannies that are making enough power to run 9's without a whole lot of effort or cash compared to the other route. Don't get me wrong there is allot of potential to be had by going the other route but if you are not looking to make an 8 second daily driven street car then why not use what one has? JMO......

9's is plently, plenty fast for the streets. And if you can do that and have AC and still be able to DD the thing on 346 cubes there is nothing wrong with that. So what if instead of 650 RWHP at 2000 rpm you have to wait until 3500 rpm to make the power...

No 9's until you run 9's... I get so tired of people saying they have a 9 second car just because they make enough power to run those times, but it takes a lot more than power to run 9's..

Preach on, brother. My car has been making 700 rwhp and pulling 143+ mph for a long time before it went 9's. Everyone kept saying I had a 9 second car, but it took alot more time and money to actually get the timeslip.
