Well the head is off and everything looks ok. The oring gap is at the top and it looks to be two thou. The gap looks to be a little more noticeable on the cylinder that is leaking, #1. It looks like the water was coming from the water jacket that is very close to the oring, not sure why? I'm going to clean it up and put some type of sealer on it, spray? I don't have any and I'm tired so that will be tomorrow!

arent you supposed to install ringed/copper headgaskets with some heat?

i.e. heat gun/hair dryer in intake ports.

I know your suppose to run the motor to get it up to operating temp, then let it cool completely, then retorque. I just thought it would hold water until I started it to run the retorque cycle. I don't like the thought of running the motor dry to get heat in it. I'm going to put it back together tomorrow and run it. I'm going to drive this car one way or the other this weekend!

I have never heard of this, or have never done this. I have installed them with copper coat and torqued them to spec and no problems.

I just sent someone to pick some up. (Copper coat)

It seems everyone agrees on the retorque after the first heat cycle.

There is a company, called the Flatout Group or something like that which makes a rubber coated copper head gasket. It's like a clear synthetic coating over a normal copper gasket. Supposed to solve the leaking issues with copper gaskets.

Well it runs again, and it still sounds angry!!! I cleaned everything up and ran it. I'll retorque it and and water tomorrow. I'm going to burn up this old gas this weekend. I just got two new 55 gallon drums of C16 that I don't want to go to waste.

Well I got everything retorqued and started it up. I filled it up with water and we'll see tomorrow. If I'm not mistaken I think I saw some water come out of the exhaust dump! I really hope I'm wrong. I'll check it first thing in the morning.
