Default Got Custom Hi-Flo dyno numbers with a little problem

Well after many runs on the street tuning my car we finally decided to strap it down on a dyno. We let it cool off some since I had been stuck in bumper to bumper track for 30mins before making any pulls.

The setup is:

*8.5:1 383 LS1 shortblock
*AI ported 98 heads (2001 technology )
*M6 w/ Mcleod Twin
*12-bolt w/ 3.42s
*Nasty sumped tank with A1000 (-10AN feed -8AN return)
*Vic. Jr. Intake w/ Nitrous Dave's elbow
*HF'er turbo kit with T76GTS and 4.5" Procharger intercoolers stood up vertical in grill openings
*and a bunch of other stuff

The first pull it made 465/480 with low timing and going a little lean. Second pull we bumped the timing by about 3 degrees and fattened it up to 11.0-11.5 and made 485/512. Third pull we tried to get the boost controller to bump the boost to around 12-13 but it would only give us #8-9 and pumped out 512/512. Last pull we opened the cutout and turned the boost controller up some more but it still would only make #8-9 but it put down 545HP (the tach signal screwed up and the TQ reading said 147 at 24000 RPMS. :lmao:

So we believe that it was just not getting enough load on the dyno and was spinning the tires since as soon as we pulled it out on the road and hammered down in 4th gear it jumped to #12. Looks like if we can get #12 and keep it from spinning it should make ~600 on pump gas.

Overall I'm pleased and it definitely feels stronger than 600 on the road. Also the Intercoolers are doing a good job keeping the IATs acceptable on a 86 degree day.

Cliff notes: It made 545 on #8-9 and wouldnt load up enough to get the #12 we wanted.

Nice numbers for sure... You should take it to a dyno that loads it up a little better...

Yea I would have but there isnt a loadable dyno real close plus I knew the shop I dyno'd at. The heads are Advanced Induction heads they were based out of Concord, NC. I'm not sure if they are still there or not.

3bar yea. We're pretty sure it was spinning on the dyno since I was on some 245/17 street tires.

8 lbs on a 8.5/1 long block.... id say hes doing alright considering how much more boost he can probably run.

Those are good #'s but it should of made more. You more cube's than I do and i made 620rwhp and 540rwhp at 5500 rpm. on only 8lbs. Strap it down tighter or get so drag radial's.That should help!

Hey man there is a mustang dyno down here in fayetteville. I went the other day to get some pulls but found out my car has a bad o2 again and is running pig rich. The guy seemed to know what he was doing. He did put one strap on the downpipe but I think he knows not to do that now (I melted it 2/3's of the way through on the one half assed pull we did). It was $75. for 3 pulls or $100 for 3 pulls w/wideband.

Well I re-dyno'd today and I'm still having trouble with boost falling off up top. I would rise to 12# immediately and by 6K it would only be making 9#. We pulled 575/612 which I think is pretty much where it should be. I'm running a HKS EZ2 boost controller.

Any help would be appreciated.
