Default Forged motor already

Well I didn't even get to enjoy my supercharger on the stock bottum end before I realized I had problems.

Lets just start off by saying I just got my car tuned 2 weeks ago with my new heads and the procharger. Made 519rwhp and 521rwtq. but while I was on the dyno I kept pushing the dipstick out of the dipstick tube. and I kept getting oil in cylinders 2 and 8(pushing oil thought the valve seals or something) fowling the plugs. so I brought the car home from the dyno and got some breathers to vent the crank case. Well at idle smoke was just pooring out of the breathers so I did a cylinder leak down test on the motor and found 6 of the clyinders having an 80% leakdown The 2 clyinders with good readings were 2 and 8 and since they kept getting oil in the cylinders it was like doing a wet test so I know it is the rings in my motor causing all the problem.

So I tore the motor out of the car last night and pulled the heads off. Pistons are all ok and I can still see a cross hatch pattern on the cylinder walls(54k on the motor) I can't beleve the rings are that bad. Oh well

Now the motor is getting treated to a set of Diamond Pistons and Callies Rods(ordered yestarday). Probably gonna stick a new cam in the motor while it was out. Not sure what but I might go with the one the Guys at EPP use alot. And then I am gonna get a smaller blower pulley too. I can't wait

Funny how these cars sometimes make our choices for us.

thanks I know. Plus I think it just looks really cool. I am not a fan of all tan interiors cause carpets get dirty quick. I really like the two tone

Maybe they just broke or was the motor real rich?

Ringlands are usually the first thing to go. It does suck, but I wouldn't have been suprised. Some people get lucky with things like this and others don't. Sucks, but at least you get to upgrade!

Hey, Sorry about the ringlands, but I cannot tell you how many make the mistake of adding boost to the stock ls1, ls2 rotating assebmly. Those motors are not set up for boost from the factory and it is just a matter of time before the ringlands go. Just like yours. THe good thing is now you will have a motor that can hanlde the DS-1 and you can go fast and not worry.

We have installed and tuned a countless amount of cars with ATI ProChargers without having any problems with pistons and broken ringlands. Then all of a sudden, you have one that cracks a piston. You're not alone, it is rare, but it does happen. It can be as simple as getting a bad tank of gas, or it is just plain bad luck. Bob

That is strange! I'd look for a reason why all four pistons on that side cracked, such as having a problem with the injector harness or something along those lines. Bob

Alky and Torco are insurance but no guarantee. My fingers are crossed. I'm sure that you'll be back better than ever.

First, I'll iterate that your interior is truly awesome, and second, That sucks. I lost a couple pistons on my stock LS1. They say LS1's are beasts, but one little glitch and your car is sitting.
