Default Twin STS's?

Here's just an idea I was thinking about lately, wanted to get some input. I'm running a true dual setup and with the dumps at the axle I'm thinking a twin sts setup probably somewhat like the corvettes used would be nice. Just kinda wanna get some input from everbody THANKS!!

There are a few people who have done it, i think you would be fine with a appropriate size single though

a twin set up would be a bad option IMO. i already have a lot of lag, cant imagine trying to spin 2 of them hoes. maybe if you had the motor for it it would'nt be that bad

its been done. Search for the name "Jammer". he did a twin rear mount and sold it on here. Beautiful work and from what I understand it worked quite well. He used two rather small turbos and ran straight pipe down the underside. Not the greatest for ground clearance but very unique.

Oh no... Not another one!

Just buy a stock y-pipe, then get an i-pipe and hook it up the normal way. Those parts couldn't cost you more than $300 verses a $1000+ in turbo parts...plus all the extra work !!

agreed, justifying adding another turbo becase you have dual exhaust, maybe the worst idea ever... you will lose so much heat through two exhaust pipes you will never make boost.

for a turbo in the rear, wouldnt it make more sense using all of the exhasu heat to spool 1 instead of 2?...... you loose a lot of heat with a rear mount.

I do know that, but they are baby turbos if I’m not mistaken...

my point is it is a foolish idea to build a twin turbo (remote mount none the less) as opposed to an arguably cheaper and more efficient single turbo set up just for the sake of salvaging an existing TD setup.

not to mention that the charge pipes will take up quite a bit of room under the car...real estate is not exactly easy to come by under an fbody with TDs in the first place.

Sure, ditch the muffler and then the bumper stuff for the FMIC, but ya, I did pick up some weight. My poor brakes were done for from the beginning .

THE_SUPRA and 99Z28LS1 sorry for being a kn*bhead. i just had to say it!

the vettes do have a much more complex system than the normal single rear mounts. they have to run the cold side throught the fenders! there must be at least 3 miles of pipe work. lol

that said i think someone has got over 700rwbhp on stock turbos! i think the GT32 units are pushing more like 900 if you have the motor! but they dont have the choice. lol

have a look at the thread on the single rear mount vett on here. now that looks like a good setup!

Chris.
