MAF or SD with a Procharger
So you are saying the 20k comes more from building the engine, building the tranny, getting a 9in or a 12bolt, getting suspension to put the power to ground, tires that will hook, minitub, full cage... ect ect...all the extra stuff that goes along with making big power regardless of if it is from a turbo or a supercharger. So when people quote silly prices for turbo setups they are more quoting the money it takes to go fast regardless of how you do it rather than the actual cost of the turbo setup, right?
So in the end whether you are making 1000whp with a turbo or a supercharger it doesnt really matter, you still need to put a ton of money into it to build the rest of the car up to handle that sort of power so really the only increase in cost of a turbo over a blower is the exhaust manifolds, the increased cost of the turbo(s) over the price of the supercharger head unit (which is comparitivly cheap), increased time for installation (which may equal more money depending on how much you do yourself) and increased price for tuning time..
If this is the case why does the procharger seem to be a more popular option?
I know I am getting OT but I have been just trying to detemine the options out there and how viable they are when compared to other options
