The P1SC and the D1SC are physically the same size. So the P1 is NOT smaller. It just has different internals.

How much PSI is safe on stock compression? I have a Turbo that I salvaged off of a SISU with very low hours on it. I would like to use on a Silverado. What are the upper limits of PSI I can boost a stocker.

Doesn't matter so much as to how much boost, what really matters is HP, and the limit is around 500rwhp in most cases...

Right? So your saying that if it takes 20 psi to make 500 hp thats ok as long as it's under 500 huh?

thats correct, power is power. However, if it takes you 20 psi to make that much power, you may be out of the turbos efficiency range. When you are out of the turbos efficiency range it surges or you start to heat up the air - thus a larger chance for detonation to occur. Also, if the exhaust side is too small, you will restrict the motor with its own exhaust gases/backpressure- thus contaminating your motors combushion cycle.

try taking that number down to about half that.
unless you're putting 400* air into the LS1, its going to be making 500hp long before it reaches 20PSI..

thats because 1 . you have a big motor 2. you have a big turbo

20 psi of boost out of a t28 does not = 20 psi of boost out of a T04E 60-1 or T67 r T70 etcc

do not turbo, or supercharge a stock motor, thats an accident waiting to happen, its too much stress on the bottom end of the motor, u might want to get heads and a Camshaft from MTI first. go to www.motorsporttech.com

get your 5500 and you will be good. I grabbed a used STS kit from here. BUT if you decide to get a used kit... make damn sure when they ship it that they don't use peanuts all over the place and that they do cover up the turbo holes....thats another story......

5500 would easily do it for a used kit. but be ready for bs things and little odds and ends.

do it the first time and do it right, you won't have problems out of it.
get sloppy with Forced Induction and you lose things...

Wrong and WRONG! That was on my bone stock 346 motor- stock heads, stock cam, pistons, rods, rod bolts, etc. And that was with my "small" P-1SC supercharger (not turbo), which I still have on my new forged setup.

that would work greatly, as that way you can get all NEW pieces and have the whole kit. I'm currently running 5psi, no intercooler, no meth injection and made the numbers in sig. working on getting Intercooler and bumping to 7psi...
