Default Running Diesel Turbo on LS1

I searched and could not find anything I was looking for..
Anyone running a turbo from a diesel engine? The AR specs are up around 1.10 on most of them (6.9-7.4 liter engines) and that should make really good power. And due to them being built for a diesel (whoms powerband only runs to about 4k) it should produce massive amounts of power down low, while being big enogh to carry the engine up to around 6k without bottlenecking. Any comments?

i've read before that a turbo from a diesel doesn't work because of the lack of exhaust pressure from the gasoline engine verses the diesel. sorry if i'm incorrect

The best way to figure out if a specific turbo will work with your motor is to get the flow map for the turbo, crunch the flow numbers for your engine and see how they compare.

You also have to remember the turbo unit itself is not the main expense in a turbo build, you can spend 10k or more very fast getting everything you need done.

A GT42 is basically a Diesel turbo and people have used them successfully, The turbo I have on my car now is a "modified" VNT diesel turbo, and so far it works very well (15psi by 3000rpm on a 402 with a wild cam and good flowing heads). As stated before, check the compressor map and you should be able to figure it out. Just a note, diesel turbos do tend to be physically bigger that can cause packaging issues, you can probably get the same output in a smaller package using a different turbo.

very interesting, i thought about trying the same thing, but 1.10 exhaust is too much for my rear mount
