everything stays on the front of the motor! PS, AC, everything. Its in the car finally, and running the wiring in being a royal pain. Its taking alot of time, but its worth it to know that nothing is going to be too close and catch fire! I would loved to have already fired it but we're not rushing ANYTHING! There has just been way to much done and its very easy to overlook one little thing.

Do you have any thoughts on an electric supercharger?

One other quick question about turbos in general. If the boost level is 0 psi., which I guess isn't actually boost, is any more power made as opposed to naturally aspirated? If not, how much boost would you need to have to get back the power lost from spinning the turbos? Like a break even point.

I think he just needs to take a ride in a turbo car. 0 psi can only be achieved under light load, and light throttle. At those points it doesn't matter how much power you can make cause you obviously have enough to get down the road @ 0psi. If that isn't cutting it, then just lean into the throttle a bit more and viola.

The purpose of forced induction isn't to drive around with 0psi.

Yes, 0 psi "gauge pressure" is = to atmospheric pressure (14.7psi)

It was just a couple of random thoughts I had.

The elecric superchargers don't seem to be sized for engines over 3.8 liter anyway. The electrical power needed for boosting a V8 even a few pounds is probably too excessive anyway. I just like the idea of a nitrous boost capability without refilling a bottle all the time. Know what I mean?

I've never used one, but i'm pretty sure electric superchargers are a waste of your time... please don't put one on ur car - pretttyyyy pretttty please!

Well there're about 3 grand, so it's not like thier cheap. I was thinking of using my ingenuity to electrically power a turbo, just for 10 seconds or so and for only a few PSI. Or an even crazier idea, use a small gas powered engine to spin it. Hit a switch to start the small gas 2 stroke (think big chainsaw motor or something) and then have some fun. It's just a thought and might not be too expensive to do. Short run times would mean the turbo wouldn't need forced oil cooling and wouldn't build much heat - depending on several factors.

I was mainly just wondering what a pro like SonofaBish thought of this. I don't mean to hijack the thread.

alright, firing day has been held off to try and save some time. We're just going to get all the final touches done instead of getting it running and then finishing everything up. Hopefully this will shave some time off the overall project.

ive seen this car many times in person. i have to say, this car to the unexpected or unknowledgeable person will own you. by looking at the engine bay all you see are soem weird *** shorty headers. to the untrained person you wouldnt know to guess they are log manifolds for turbos, his exhaust is setup similar to the SLP series, and as for plumbing it looks like a cold air kit or some sort. its truely a nice setup now the nice FMIC gives it away but if he would rig up his front plate to sit back in its home then you would never know it was boosted. it would be nice to see a similar setup inbetween my fenders but thats impossible

good luck bish and as always quailty fab work. TJ and Jay have some tig skills

Nice looking setup. Looks like the suspension will be next on the list of upgrades.
