Default Ls1 twin turbo

Hi guys !

To first, sorry for my bad English.

I am new here and on LS1 engine area.
I HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME !!!
I want to build a twin turbo LS1 and fit it in my car (Ford Sierra Cosworth).First I wanted build a Mustang Cobra 4,6 engine, but engine gives me no space for the turbos under the hood and I want have the turbos like the LS1 GEN-Turbo kit, turbos on left and right side .

My knowledge about LS1 is not so good, because my decision for LS1 engine is new and need some help.
For the first time (building in next winter)I want go with stock engine and 7psi boost is possible that I had read here.
A year later want go with forged crank, forged H-beam rods, forged pistons, all studs, MLS gaskets and want go to 750rwhp.

So my question is !
Can I tune the turbo engine with the stock pcm or must I go to a stand alone like MOTEC or AUTRONIC?
From where can I get the software for the stock pcm?

It is all for the first.

Please let me know
Best Regards at all

the stock pcm can do your first few things without a problem with good tuning. its gonna take a lot for you to need a stand alone system.

A lot of people use HPtuners to edit the stock computer. http://hptuners.com/
Post in the "forced induction section" of ls1tech, more help there. Good luck!

Thanks for the quick answere.

It looks so that the 7psi can be made with stock pcm and stock engine, how much power is it ca.?
What is with the stock software?

On eBay I saw Hyper Power Programmer, is it the same think like HP-tuner?

You are probably thinking of HYPERTECH PROGRAMMER from e-bay, which is NOT what you want and certainly NOT the same as HP TUNERS which is also happen to be a sponsor here, look them up in the sponsors list.

I am from Europe (I am living in Germany but come from Bosnia-Herzegowina).
I will buy a complete LS1 dropout with t56 from USA.

Where is the sponsors list?

Must be changed the camshaft, valve springs, pushrods, roller rocker arm kit for the 750rwhp? What would you say to change for this power?
Who has turbo manifolds only to sell?
I will send pics from my project.

Please help me

Best Regards

Here ya go:
http://hptuners.com/

For 750 rwhp you're going to need:
built trans
built rear end
built short block
fuel system
heads, cam, valvesprings
gauges

stock rockers will be fine, that's about it though

Hi guys,
it is so far, I am looking to buy a LS1 swap for boosting.

I have wrote here that the LS1 alu-block is good for only 750hp and must go to 6,0 cast iron block if want go higher.
Is it so right???

What is the different between the 6,0 and 5,3 cast iron block?

alright mate! are you from england by any chance?? nice conversion mate something i have thought about doing for a long time!

right to start off i think its going to be a tight fit for the LS1 under the Cossy engine bay. soo turbos up front might be tricky! another solution is to put either a single turbo at the rear or twins. works very well with the big CC of the LS engines. google STS turbos and see what you come up with.

as for ECUs, Emeraled (SP?) should beable to run the LS under boost no problems. dave walker in the UK has done some mapping for both a Esscort Cossy and a Rx7 with LS1's in there. also he is on the developemnt/testing team i think so knows the units inside out. also i think Motec is coming out with a LS specific ECU soon.

one thing you are going to have to think about is the gearbox mate! the little T5 wont take the torque the LS (esp with a turbo) can throw at it! i know some guys have fitted Skyline boxes onto the YB but it would problabe be easier to go with a T56 as they already bolt straight on. you might want to look for a ford 9inch rear diff aswell as i have heard the normal ones blow if you run big power!

PM me mate and i can put you onto some guys in the UK that will beable to help you out furthe.

Cheers Chris.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for help.
I am living in Germany.I have decied to fit the LS1 after I have bought a 4,6 SOHC Mustang engine and have saw the space under the hood is not enough and have measured the Chevy 5,7 LT1 engine and I think it is eoungh space for RS500 twins.
What is Emeraled???
I want try to race with the 2WD rear end anf if this will not hold I will go to Supra MK4 rear end or Ford Mercur 8.8.Yes I will go with T56.

@ jkwalkercchs:
I am looking for a complete LS1 engine and T56 swap. That is the first I need.
Later I need the forged parts crank, rods, pistons, double v. springs.
Let me know if you have somethink for a good price.
I am from Hannover,Niedersachsen.

Please let me know,if anyone knows how much HP can hold the LS1 Aluminium block, it is really important!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers,
Mario

WOW thats great new that the engine will fit! and with twin turbos to!

id keep an eye out for a Manaro in the UK or Europe for the engine and box. this is the only officel sorce of the LS1 that i can think of.

you could try having a word with stevieturbo on here. he put a LS1 and a vortec YSI into his old ford granarda.

dont worry about the ally block, it will hold more power than you will need.
