Default How would a turbo do with my motor?

If I put some patriot stage 3 6.0 heads (72cc) on my 383 it would drop my compression down to around 10.1:1.

How much boost can be run safely with this set-up and 93 octane? (motor specs are in the sig) I would like to run a Turbnetic Ball Bearing TC-70 and at least 7-8lbs of boost. I figure that would be good for 550rwhp in my truck later down the road.

With a 10.1:1 cr i highly doubt on pump gas that you are going to get any where near 7-8 pounds of boost it would probly detonate very quickly. You could probly run 4-5 pounds maybe less because of such a high compression ratio you have but you really need to get your compression down to at least 9.1 or run race gas

With race fuel, 10:1 and a 383ci motor a TC70 would be instant spool. I would probably go with a TC76 if it were my combo.

Remember every point in compression equals 3% of total power, and can also equal about a lb of boost. So you could make 550rwhp maybe on 93, as long as you had an efficient way (intercooler) to keep the IAT's down below 150F. So 5-6psi might make a lot of power, hard to say if you can run 7-8 psi on pump, you would have to see what happens.

You can also remember that 15psi will roughly double engine hp. So if your engine makes say 500 hp, 5psi might equal 650hp and that might be 550rwhp.

You could always add a little meth too.
