I'd stick with around 8 to 9 psi with a stock bottom end. Bob

Well Cobras have forged pistons from the factory... And also their engines are smaller so they're going to read more boost at the same flow of cfm... I would say that 8 is good to start and then if you want more start preparing for the accomidating mods...

Racing from a dig or a roll has no difference in the effect on the bottom end. Power is power.

Actually, you put more stress on the motor in 3rd gear vs. first because you don't have the torque multiplication from the gears.

I think he was thinking "bottom end" referred to RPM range Dude, you need to do a LOT of research! Bottom end = the rotating assembly in the engine- ie: crank, rods, pistons... I see you have an LT1, their bottom ends are even weaker than the LS1 (2 bolt mains vs. 6 bolt mains). Don't go over 8 and trust the prople who have been in the game for a while. If you want to argue, at least go get educated first.

Sorry man, i wasn't trying to be a jerk. I know its hard to detect tone on the net. Thats why I put a at the end

Sorry, but thats just how it sounded to me. My mistake for misunderstanding. But I wouldn't go over 8psi intercooled. I used to have a procharged LT1 too. Again man, not trying to be an ***.

I only ran 5# and it was weak. Only made like 380 or something like that. But it was totally stock otherwise- heads, cam, exhaust manifolds, hell, even had the stock tune with the FMU. Probably could have got in the low 400's with a good tune and full exhaust. I did eventually put headers on, but I never bothered re-dynoing it again because I sold it to make the downpayment on my C5 seeing how all the LS1 guys were making similar power N/A. The one good thing the LT1's have over the LS1's is that they have more head bolts. But that really isn't a problem on the LS1's until you start getting close to like 900+ rwhp (which I never plan on). I can't even get traction with what I have now!
