Default Spray small dry off the line (turbo)

I'm thinking about spraying a small dry shot off the line in a turbo vehicle I have that dead freakin hooks. It needs a torque convertor like you wouldn't believe. Its heavy, got a tight convertor, and doesn't start to make boost till about 3200 RPM so the 60's suck! After that its an animal

Never really heard of this being done. Wanted some feedback from some of the professionals before I attempted it.

I run a 50 shot on mine from time to time.I would just get a torque converter.I would think if you spray nitrous at that low of a rpm it could damage your motor or trans.Im not saying dont spray it just maybe not that low of rpms

Yeah, i'm real reluctant to put a convertor in it cause I use it to tow. Our family has a horse now and I need to tow my other race cars etc.

I'm thinking half a dry NOS 5177 kit would be perfect. a 75 shot is +75 hp across the board. Well between 1500-3000 RPM that would mean half a 75 shot (only use one jet from the 5177 kit) would deliever a extra 131 (1500 RPM) to 65 (3000 RPM) ft-lbs of torque

NX makes a boost nitrous controller for such a thing but I haven't seen anyone using one yet.

You might want to put this in the nitrous section. I'm pretty sure you will blow up your engine if you spray it before 3000rpms. I have no idea how an auto performs off the line with a transbrake but I guess if it never went back below that rpm range you would be ok. Like I said, try it in the N2O section.

The reason people dont spray below 3000 is because there isnt enough air moving to keep things from puddling in the intake(mainly fuel). I would think that you have quite a bit more air moving then most n/a applications, but I would try to spray it as high rpm wise as I could. Other then that, I have no actual experiments to add, lol.

Julio from Alkycontrol.com uses a WET 75shot off the line with his Turbo TA. His main reason for using it is to get the T76 to spool with that little 3.8 motor.

Of course he's spraying Alky with the N2O instead of gasoline... He has his std Alkycontrol kit running, and tee'd off the pressure feed from the pump to the fuel side of the N2O nozzle. So untill it gets into boost its barely a wet shot as the line pressure feeding the nozzle is really low to nothing without boost.

Maybe he'd be someone for you to talk to about this one.

with the dry hit you won't have fuel puddling....backfire is still possible but rare...

Why not just use a 2 step with transbrake to build the boost up??

2 step will work best...but the N2O idea, DO IT!!!! Better have the tires and rear for it though.

If it's a tow rig I'm pretty sure it doesn't have a transbrake. He could use a two step however I don't know exactly how it would work with a stock stall. We need more details.

Without a transbrake and with a tight converter, a 2-step would be like kissing your sister. Just mat the brake and push it as hard as the fronts will let ya. Even a tow pig can benefit from a looser converter.
