For longevity and power, I'd recommend the following (at a minimum)
1. FMIC (it reduced my IAT's by a good 35-40 degrees....verified w/ my HP Tuners)
2. Hardened pushrods & dual springs.
3. 42lb injectors (60's are even better.)
4. A very good tune. That's the real key to reliable power.
5. A Wideband (I have great luck with the AEM) to ensure A/F is not going crazy on you
6. In-tank 255GPH pump (and a hotwire kit is good too)
7. A good clutch for a 6-speed car (I have had great luck with the Textralia OZ700.)
8. BOV for a 6-speed car. Had a Raptor XS. It sounded great but looked like rice. Had it changed for the TiaL.
9. Boost gauge
What I also have (cause I'm paranoid about blowing my $hit up)
10. LQ9 heads to lower the C:R
11. Aeromotive boost referenced return style fuel system (which is easier to make than it looks)
12. Electric fuel pressure gauge
13. ARP head studs
14. If you have a 10-bolt, then a cover and girdle. My carrier bolts were beginning to "walk" even at 5PSI. ARP carrier bolts + cover fixed that.
15. Hardened driveshaft + a loop. Driveshaft IN the cockpit is uncool.
Finally, if your budget allows, it might not be a bad idea to let a pro shop install/ tune for you. I did all my own wrenching till I deployed to Iraq last summer. Spent months prior to that working the bugs out of the car. It's now at TRT getting finished off (new cam, heads, wrapped exhaust, ...fixing the remaining small annoyances, etc.) I took a lot of pride in saying I did all my own work......but after fixing the 500th "small bug" and wanting to beat the car to death with large torque wrench on several occasions...it's nice to let the finishing touches be somebody else's headache!

Anyhow, just my $0.02. Good luck.
I would check out the autometer wideband. I had aem before and really liked it.. However the aem has much cooler features on it.
Definetly want to run a front mount and possible meth too. My iat's w/o the intercooler are really high. I would have a fm now if i was debating buy the aussie kit.

all of what schantin did..... he's good
if you're lucky, you might get a freak car(makes awesome power)
~on 7.5psi on stock motor i made 472/501 and added a custom cam and went over 500 with less boost

98Z28LS1..... hmmm. sounds like a nice cam you have there to change things that much... if i were to call trt and tell them my set up im going with will they custom grind a cam for me ? and how much do they usually run, because your cam seems to be no joke with your set up....
