9 Second guys... Wheelie Bars?
9 Second guys... Wheelie Bars? How many of you guys use Wheelie bars.... have you ever stood your car up on its bumper? With my rearmount setup.... putting a wheelie bar back there is a bit more challanging... what do you guys think?
Ok... Dave how is that? I picked up both my tires once on an 11 sec flat run... I always lifted one on any of my low 11 runs...

Its just suspension tuning and engine tuning, cars will 60' better going forward instead of going up. Not as cool for pictures but a lot safer and your front suspension/oil pan/headers will thank you for it..
Oh yea... I am scared to do it... as I dont want to squat it on the turbo... or bumper... let alone what it will do when I come back down. What do you think effects that most in your suspension? TQ arm? Trailing arms? Panhard? I have heard that airbags in the rear springs helps twist and squat.

get the car on the track, sounds like you will be surprised when it doesnt do a monster wheelie. worry about it when the tires start to carry as opposed to just popping them up a couple inches

Verdad Gallardo Most 9 second cars dont run airbags, a good rear sway bar makes the car leave level. I could tell all about how to hit the tires hard so it hooks and not put the car on the bumper but its a big secret 
But in reality everyting on my car is just simple bolt on parts, spent a little time on the scales, I use a long torque arm, make sure your driveline angle is correct, make sure the rear is square in the car, LCAs are are the right angle etc.
I also use timers to control the timing on the first 30-50' or so and adjusting the 2 step up and down makes a big difference as well. Fine line between keeping the front end down and slowing it down. I wouldnt worry about it until the time comes unless you plan on hitting it with everything it has the first time out.

Even running 10's with nitrous, I had all the suspension you can think of - I mean everything. The run I stood it up, it was like the SS had a mind of her own. With the old set-up the only thing that I was missing was the wheelie bars and limiters. Now, the SS has both. I may never need the wheelie bars (with the limiters) but I'm still not going to take that chance.
Oh I agree that suspension tune (in conjunction with appropriate power) is 100% the reason for a great 60'. Also, the 60' can dictate the entire run. Once we get the SS back to the track we are hoping for low/mid 1.2 60'. With the improvements we should be able to finally leave on a good amount of boost.

Wheelie bars are not a bad idea to have to tune in the suspension.I have them on my car to just tune in the suspension,then when it's the way we want it they will come off.
