He claimed a lot of other stuff as well. Like running a legitimate business as well.

Man who cares about the #'s I just want to get this puppy to the track. I just hope it will last-it's more than enough power to blow up everything in my drivetrain-it maybe time to find a f-body.

People still talk about it like it was yesterday... Your old combo was way ahead of its time..

yeah, that combo was insane...I figured if those smaller engine cars like LC2's, 302 Fords, and some imports can make big power with little cubes then a stock displacement LSx should really be able to tear **** up!

indeed, that car is what gave me the inspiration to get my car going and even get into forced induction in the first place.

Best of 161 with my stock ls1 block/caps, 241 heads, stock crank, on a max of 21 lbs of boost at 3450 lbs with a th400. ET streets and a 4.10 in the rear.

Would have probably gone 163-164 if I hadn't been on the rev limiter the last 1-1.2 seconds of the pass. Almost 128 mph to the 1/8th on a 1.36 60 ft.

Beyond around 500-550rwhp with forced induction the ringlands are prone to failure on stock LS1 pistons. I don't think that people can even create a list of failed stock ls1 cranks because there really aren't many. They are very very stout since the main caps truly don't allow them to flex much. Tons of 1000rwhp buildups with stock cranks.

LS2 block is better than the LS1 block for hi power forced induction. If you drive the car a lot (ie street) the bores become out of round with LS1 hi perf blown buildups and eventually lose ring seal. Many found the solution to simply switch to an LS2 block.

Never knew this. Can someone else verify/go into detail why?

Block flex. The bores distort. The LS2 is just stronger, plain and simple.

unless you sleeve the ls1. That is what i am doing to mine, i am going to make sure nothing breaks in the heart of the car, now the rear is a different story.

That's what I did! 800rwhp in a 6speed vette gets old...

Last time on the OL rollers was almost 1100rwhp..

The stock crank was really starting to flex though.... the main bearings werent liking it at all.....

shitty 317 heads, GMPP carb manifold and the old twin 66 setup. Glide for the trans, 28x10.5W tire, and 3.60 rear gear.

Nothing specially really.

Boost = all the 66's would make about 30 peak, dropping to 27 ish by 8k RPM.

Dont forget the two biggest things Matt....

Stock PCM and two MAF's...

This is what I was about to ask.

How much power can the block take with a MID sleeve or something similar?
