11.4:1 compression too much for boost?

Default 11.4:1 compression too much for boost?

I have a forged 402 LS2 I am putting together. Final compression is 11.4 to 1. Is it too much to go boosted?

it will limit how much you want to run on boost on pump gas for sure. Its on the high side of compression unless you are just gonna be a track only car.

You can get a little thicker head gasket too and help a little, what heads do you have on the car?

What kind of setup were you looking at? That seems a little high to me, but it could probably work with something very low boost with a cam to lower dynamic compression and boost that didn't come on till pretty late, but I would think that would be a lot like driving a big turbo four banger. All the power would be late in the powerband, and not all that usefull.

I originally planned on making it a nitrous setup, but thinking about boost. It already has the .040 head gasket and the top end is the l92/76 setup. What kind of boost pressure would be safe on this setup, considering it won't be a street car.

Fuel cars run 14:1 with 40psi, but the destroy the engine every run. I've always been a fan of running the static compression up at least into the 9's for street. If you make sure to compensate for elevation, temp, and humidity every time your run it should'nt hurt itself, but your not leaving much of a margin for error. You could try some things like the other have said to lower you dynamic compression a bit too.
