Default 408 supercharged LQ4 help

I am going with a supercharged and stroked lq4. I have a 2000 block that I am starting with. I plan on picking up an Eagle 4.000" crank with the -29CC dish piston and a 9:1 compression ratio with stock 66 heads. Haven't made up my mind yet but I think I'm going with a magna charger. In this application is there a proven cam combination? I'm looking for a cam with out a huge lope or extremely rough idle. What other items should I look at changing beside ARP bolts? Is the magna charger the best supercharger out there.

what fuel system will I need. Would 40LB injectors and a Walbro GSS340 electric pump with 40 gph @ 45 psi work? Is the pro charger an all inclusive kit like the magna charger?

well, what exactly are your power/e.t. goals? Depending on that info, we can help you pinpoint a fuel system setup...also take a look at the boosted list above so you can get an idea of what setup will suit you best. And yes a Pro-C kit has everything you'll need to install it.

i agree with the above... plus, its also in what you want... me personally, if i were to get a blower, i'd want a roots (magnacharger) or a twin-screw or something... if you have no preference, i think the centrifugals are capable of more power, but they will make power differently than the maggy ur talking about....

the whine of a roots or twin-screw ???

My power goal is 600HP. How ever I would like to make that without giving up drive ability or having a lopey cam. It's a convertible so I would still like to drive the car two or three times a week during the summer. Think street fighter / sleeper with the ability to go to the track once or twice a year.

600 should be a piece of cake, especially with a 408... no matter which you choose.
for some reason the system put "???" above when i put "F.T.W."... I would choose the maggie, but b/c i'm partial to the noise of that type of blower

At what point in HP does street ability take nose dive? Also, If I'm running a 4L80E or 4L60E with that kind of power should have 4.10 gear in rear end or wold a 3.73 or 3.90 be ok?

its gonna depend on what blower you get.... some of the centrifugals are pretty loud when idling... However, roots or screw type blowers with smaller pullies are VERY loud when you are on the gas... I'm honestly not real familiar with how loud centrifugals are when accelerating

this is probably an objective thing.. with FI though, you can get a WHOLE LOT of power before you loose driveability, b/c you can make LOTS AND LOTS of power without having a huge cam....

i'm not sure i understand what you asking about the gears..?

About the gears....should I change the gears in my rear end to handle the additional power?

if you have a stock 10 bolt, you better change the whole rear-end...
get a 12-bolt or 9"... once you have that, it doesnt matter what gear you have, it'll take the power

The maggie will have a hard time feeding the 40x to its real potiential. It will simply not push enough CFM in the upper RPM range. Down low in the RPMs with the 40x, should be quite fun though. I would go with a D1 Procharger of Vortech T-Trim as a mininium.
