Default Lysholm instead of root type...

Why not? I use one on my yamaha snowwmobile and its really efficient... like 90% efficient instead of the usual 50-60% of roots type.

Is that a screw PD blower or a axial compressor?

Whats the question ?

There are twin screw blowers in use on some LSx's They are just not as common due to cost, and lack of kits.

a roots and a lysholm blower are both twin screw, BUT the lysholm use a Male.Female 'screw' design which make it so much more efficient (less heat).

This is the same style as kenne bell blowers. But in my case (yamaha) I have a Opcon autorotor unit

Sorry, but you are wrong. A Roots is a twin lobe, not a twin screw.

You numbers are a bit off. The highest you'll ever see a roots blower is at 45, maybe 50% AE. Whereas the twin screw blowers will see around 65% max. There is no common automotive compressor made that can surpass 85% AE that I know of. The highest turbochargers are just over 80% for the dual ball bearing units, and the highest centrifugals are around 75%.

Roots can also be tri-lobe, I believe the Eaton-Magnacharger are 3-lobe designs. But they still suck next to a screw type.

Wrong words I guess. I ment that they have two rotors. You are right, they do have 3 lobes, and helical. They are considered a Hyrbrid design because of the helical lobes, and front (or rear) fed intake. But it's still a Roots style compressor due to how it compresses the air. Which is down the sides of the case, to where a twin screw compresses it in between the rotors.

Correct. The inlet can be radial or axial, meaning along the rotor axis (Front or back), or on the top or bottom of the blower.

Kenne Bell = Autorotor = Opcon

Opcon also makes the Lysholm line that used to be used by Whipple. Now Whipple is making their own superchargers.

All of the above are twin screw.
