Default Just bought a 6.0 block, 370 or 408

I parted out my Grand National and am now undertaking a turbo LSx build. Dont have a car for it yet but will probaly be buying my moms 01 Z28 back. Most likey will be working with Weber Racing on the build, already been in contact with them awhile back when this combo was going in my GN.
They suggested 370 but I was wondering what are the advatages and disadvantages from 370 vs 408 with FI. Will mostly be a weekend warrior car but road worthy

370 ???! Speed inc's shop car put down 995RWHP with a turbo on one of their 370s and ran high 8's. Car is driven to car shows and around town. Do you need more then that?

With turbos you want faster spinning assemblies. I would go with the stock stroke length and 6.125" rods. The longer rod will help reduce the angular momentum on the crankshaft and will allow it to spin faster and safer.

That looks like a very sweet setup. My concern with strokers + turbos is extra torque in the lower part of the power band where it really isn't needed, plus the usual issues of oil consumption.

Engine size has nothing really to do with the turbos power.

Whether on a 100ci engine or 400ci engine the turbo will only flow X amount of air. In some cases the more efficient setup is the smaller cube setup which actually will make more power then the big cubes.

Depends entirely on HP goal and turbo size. You can spin a 408 to 8K rpm if you want to...
I'd go with 370 cubes and T88 or similar size turbo. It'll be easier to package.

for 1000rwhp, you are looking at possible head lifting issues. I'd go 370 (i like the 408 better personally) and with the money you saved over the 408, get some thicker deck heads like the AFRs or 408...oringed 317. I like the 408 for off boost daily driveability and helps spool a big t6 housed turbo,,,since its not a daily driver...370 thick deck heads and a s488 turbo...my 3 cents

Girdle is for the block and mains if their is movement. Apparently most of the LS1's aren't having that problem. Most of the problem comes from head sealing problems.
