What is your crank reference degrees in bigstuff3?

The way we figured out our TDC was probably wrong.

Also - what does cam ref deg do vs crank ref deg?

Mine is at 348.5, I checked my TDC with the head off and tried two different timing lights so its pretty close I think. Last car I did with a lunati crank was right at 350.

I dont see cam reference anywhere.

I just checked and I have really old software, the newer software has two sections for crank ref deg

One is COP, the other is crank trigger

What are you using for the COP one?

348.5, I dont think the crank trigger one does anything on an LS1 box.

343

just above the cop box there is a static test timing box. fill it in with something and then check the box.

then put a timing light on the thing and change the cop value until the numbers match

this assumes you have a degree incremented and tdc marked damper and a pointer

my last engine was 20* behind this one

I just have a timing cal I load in with the timing all the same and idle at 2500rpm, you have to zero out the idle timing correction also and its easier to just load a new file then change everything then change it back.

Would ne nice if the static timing worked, my firmware is over a year old, may not even work with LS1 firmware at all..

You need to go download the latest version of BS3 off of there website. Iam still using the older one I downloaded it to a CD and just haven't loaded it to the car etc...I had to change the whole timing table to do mine, but not a big deal.

I have the newest software but the static timing doesnt work, not sure if its firmware (mine was updated last year) or if its just not active on the LS1 firmware at all. Really not a big deal
