need your advice
i am very new to turbo setups, and i need advice on what BOV and wastegate i should get.. this will be a single turbo application pushing 6-8psi on a stock internal ls1..im hoping for 500-525 rwhp
would a turbonetics evolution 38mm wastegate be big enough??
or should i go for something bigger.. i trying to stay on a budget, but also want decent parts..
also what brand and model BOV should i get.. sponsor links would be great, and if they are not a sponsor please send me the link in a PM
keep in mind i am on a budget, but dont want crap parts..
i also dont mind if the parts are used as long as they are in good working condition
thanks
EDIT: what do i need to run a boost controller.. i see eboost2 is pretty common... how does that work with the wastegate?? and will it work for any?

KLRWS6 is selling a Tial BOV if you want to give him a PM. I have the same from STS and it works just fine.
I'm sure others will reccomend another brand of BOV like Turbonetics, Greddy, etc. but I think domestics should stay away from the ricey sounding BOV's, but everyone has their own opinion!

yeah i dont want mine super loud, im going for more of a sleeper setup, im actually ditching my LMII exaust and am gonna run something quieter with an electric cutout..
i found a pretty good deal on a turbonetics BOV and wastegate and turbo
the turbonetics evolution 38mm wastgate is 219.00
and the turbonetics raptor BOV is 199.00
he also has a turbonetics 60-1 w/ a t4 flange for 831.00 any AR (non ball bearing) the ball bearing turbo is 1328.00 in any AR.. everything is brand new
he said if i order all that stuff he will knock down the prices for me.. does this seem like a good deal, and should i get the BB turbo instead of the non BB.. this isnt going to be a drag car, just my DD

be careful when tuning with that cutout.
You can get tial or turbonetics for $200-220shipped. Both will do fine.
I wouldn't expect much more than 475rwhp from a 60-1, so don't be disappointed if it doesnt get you in the 500 mark
Goodluck

Im kind of in the same boat as you. Im pretty new with turbos and have a semi budget build. Heres what im doing
Stock bottom end
ls6 cam
6.0 heads with heavy duty springs/retainers
Polished intake
Fasst fuel rails
pt76gts turbo
60 lb injectors
tial 50mm bov
tial 44mm WG with 9 psi spring
To me thats a budget build, im hoping to see over 600 hp w/ a good tune.

well i was hoping for slightly above 500, so i may be searching for a different turbo then.. i was even thinking of doing a 50 shot of nitrous to lower the air temps and give me some more power but i don't wanna get to greedy and grenade my motor..
i need a turbo with a 4" inlet, a 2.5 to 3" outlet and it needs to have a 3" exaust out so if you have any suggestions let me know.. it also needs a t4 flange

IMO a T67 with a .81 exhaust housing would be a pretty good combo. It'll flow good enough to make 475+ without needing 7+psi. Standard garrett has 4"in, 2.5"out, 3.5"exhaust and they sell for around $900.
My other advice would be, the bigger IC the better (obviously) when messing with numbers in the 500s. Also don't forget a wideband and fuel pressure guage.
