Try diesel oil if you want max protection. Think of it this way, a diesel is a much higher stress engine then a gas engine. Static CR of 18-22:1 plus 35-70psi of boost with EGT's that climb to 1700-2000. Also you can't run standard motor oil in a diesel as it will burn off, so how much better is diesel oil . Something to think about

Diesel oils sometimes have detergents, that arent welcome in a gasoline motor.

Ive heard of people doing this, and the oil turning frothy. Although this was many years ago.

I run Motul 300V 5/40

Rotella though doesn't have them.....we have been running it on the race engines for quite sometime, and its available at Walmart now for decent price.

None so far. Some of the gas motors have almost 350,000 miles on it now from towing.

I don't run 15psi but still on the stocker so that's gotta count for something right?
Anyways, my brother works for a division of Ethyl that tests oils/fuels/additives/etc. Says Castrol GTX is probably the worst oil you can run...rarely does it pass their 3G test where they run an engine at like 80% load for 300 hours (I think those numbers are right)...it sludges up real bad and the engines usually never make it until the end before breaking.
He said Mobil 1 is the best synthetic but for an engine like mine; turbo, high bearing loads, & high heat, Rotella T is what i should run....so I do.

Over the years i've heard nothing but great stuff about teh Shell Rotella T ... i'd always been hesitant about buyign it b/c its so cheap, but i've never heard a bad thing about it!!! Its been raved about on the motorcycle forums, and most despise putting car oil in a bike
