Racetronix Evac Harness
discuss
what does everyone think about this, i have heard that the stock AIR PUMP would not have enough steam to do anything for crankcase pressure. Will this work? What does everyone think...worth the money?
In any case, im subscribing

its seems like a lot of people are managing just fine with using either the inlet of the SC/turbo or routing to the intake. Personally, I have yet to have problem with using the intake for vac on the crankcase.

so what does everyone think still...he is getting 4-5" of vac with an lt1 pump.
so i know that the ls1 has a slightly bigger crank case but what does everyone think?
throw a line on the pump, run a Y to both valve covers and then run a breather on the oil filler. I would think the breather on the oil filler neck would kill a little bit of the crank case vac but help out a lot when the AIR pump was not on. Is anyone following me at all here? I really want to try this out but for 50$ plus shipping to hawaii i just cant afford it right now with the motor build going down.

i know i can spend severl hundred $$$ and make a good evac system but if i can spend 50$ just on that wire harness i would like to do it.
i already have both my valve covers going to a vented catch can i would just run this pump inline with those and keep everything normal.

with the 2 wire harness for the LS1 pump comming soon
sorry the pics no longer work

over the course of a couple months the motor took a dump from oil contamination. a noticeable improvement in anything at all was NOT found during the use. i strongly reccomend a catch can be used to keep the pump alive.
also anything other than high throttle positions it gets very annoying to listen to.
also keep in mind to have a back up plan if the pump stops working.. some other way for pressure to be set free.
do you think i would get better results if i ran a breather on my oil filler neck and the pump at the valve covers...or is that just worthless cause i am still only gonna see 0 vac at the crankcase and it will be that same as the vented setup i am running now.
do you think this is better then a true vented system?
is it worth the money/effort?
for me it was worth the money cuz it was free to try
also if you pull off of one valvecover, you should vent off the other. if not you would just pull air from one end of the valvecover to the other only.

Like a dust buster crawled up under the hood.Looks like its pretty effective though. Im just using the intake for vacuum under normal cruising and the inlet of the turbo during boost. One check valve opens during vacuum, the other opens under boost to pull from both covers. Total cost was $50 (2 CVs and a catch can)
i would only have it turn on during boost so i would not notice it to much i think
JA i thought about that but then i got to run a line all the way back and i already got like 4 of those so thats no good....i will prob stick to the breather setup i have going now....
might have to try this tho
running the pump for normal driving, instead of a check valve system
and then having a catch can connect to a port on the turbo intake for WOT
keeping both systems seperated
