Default Good cubic inch for Procharger...

What would be a good cubic inch to go with when it comes down to a D1S-C ProCharger? I have a 97 LT1 and a D1S-C, and I was wondering what a good displacement would be.. Wanting to see 600 to the wheels, more if possible, with a good set of heads, cam, intake, fuel sys... I was thinking 370 c.i.?

370 ci? where you getting 370 from? that would take some major work to get sleeves in there to only get 370 out of it, 355 4.030 3.5 stroke and 383s 4.030 bore 3.75 stroke are popular you just have to decide how you want to build it, a stroker has a little more torque to them, a 355 will have a little more top end RPM horse power to them.

So you have a 383 and a procharger, what were your ending numbers with that combination? And how many pounds of boost are you running?

The 370 idea came from a friend that was going to go turbo before he ended up going all nitrous. Well he was going to go 370, and that was with a forced induction mod, and so I figured that a supercharger would be "almost" the same as a turbo setup, minus a few odds and ends.

you can build a 377 from a 400 block and destroke it, but with out doing major work and putting sleeves in a LT block your not getting 370.

I would go with a 383, and you're going to need a great set of heads for your plan. Bob

Turbos are different in many respects as you need to size the compressor to the cubes (or vice versa) or you can run into backpressure issues. This isn't as critical with a supercharger as it is belt driven though you can certainly undersize a blower to the motor...

I would throw a 4 inch stroke crank in it and keep it at 383ci with the D1SC. Good set of heads and a decent cam and you'll hit 700 plus on 15#s boost easily.

Cheers,
Chris

I would go with a 4.0" stroke crank to make a 383. The longer stroke crank will create good torque in the lower RPM range when the SC has not yet reached into its power band( upper RPMs ).

A 3.625 crank will get you 370ci. A 3.75 will get you to 383. Forget the sleeves.

I don't know but I know that when you look at their LS2 stuff, it is a lot more than most places, now I am not bashing them by all means, because their stuff could be absolutely bad, but then again, i am not about to spend the amount of money that they would want to do a bulletproof block for me, esp. when I can get it done a lot cheaper elsewhere with comparable results.
