They a re machined from billet aluminum, check on the NMRA boardswhen guys move up to bigger blowers you can pick hem up for $80-100

I think there are 2 for sale now, not sure on the inlet size though

I think he meens that sticking an object inside your blower might act as a restriction. I don't know what size the inlet / outlet of the stack or the blower's are though. If the stack's inside diameter is smaller than that of the blower it might act as a restriction.

I think it just gives the blower's inlet a greater surface area of possible air to intake. When you trap them with those rinky dink procharger intake hats they're only recieving as much air as that tube's volume. With the stack you're going from a contained volume to a larger open volume. It seems like it would do something. I don't know about an extra 2 pounds of boost though.

the ring goes on the outside of the inlet not the inside.

That would make sense. Then it's just going from a fixed smaller volume tube to something that can flow more air. Filtering it would be interesting.

It increases intake length and reduces boundary layer along intake shroud.

I can't see it working on say a F1r because intake passage actually opens up after inlet face.

The ring's work

But

You either run no filter or a huge inlet pipe for no restriction. It helps smooth the airflow into the blower which pulls more air. Now,we are not talking a gain with a 8lb blower setup. We mostly see gains in our Renegade cars that push 20-30lbs of air.

A benefit for your Vette? Doubt it since it seams to have belt problems now.

Thanks Don-i was waiting for someone who had renegade experience to chime in. I got the slip issue sorted-no more slip-I had a belt one size too big. So are the Renegade guys running inlets bigger than 4" or none at all-would it be better for someone like myself to run a bigger airfilter? Right now i'm running a 6" inlet inverted cone S&B filter?

The easiest way to check is to log a run with the filter assembly, then log a run without it.If the boost goes up then yes it is a restriction. Vette design is ussually pretty good.We don't run filters on out race cars and they ussually run 5" or 6" inlet pipes.

Are the Reichard ones the only option for the F-series blowers?

Where can we find more options Slowhawk?

Link not working for me ??

Is it the location of this bellmouth that is supposed to help, or just the fact there is one in place ?

I run a short 45deg Silicone pipe, to a 4-6" bellmouth and a big filter ( but just bought a bigger one though )

I still couldnt manage to make more than 20psi on my YSi.
