Gen-TT Truck Systems

Good news is that there are zero underbonnet modifications when fitting the Gen-TT Truck kit. The airbox is removed, the inlet pipe comes off, and our new hardware screws into place. Some existing kits require different engine fans, wiring modifications etc. Everything stays factory with our setup. We figure that a competent mechanic could have this system installed and out the door in around 10 - 14 hours, as we even supply exhaust pipes to join the turbochargers to the original existing GM Truck system

Dyno testing and tuning was a straightforward affair using HP Tuners 2 bar Speed Density operating system on the 5.3 litre iron block engine. Fuelling is supplied by a set of 50lb/hour fuel injectors fed by a Bosch 044 Motorsport fuel pump. Adding a decent pump in this application is simple as the GM Truck has a full return style fuel system. A very conservative calibration was used in this application with the fuel mixture left nice and rich and conservative ignition timing in place to allow for less than perfect quality fuel in tow/haul situations. The transmission programming needed massive alteration though as the GM truck program is very sensitive to kick down due to the engines low original torque....with the Gen-TT kit in place we have the truck holding the gears much longer at big throttle openings and using its new muscular torque curve to advantage

Power gains are impressive with a massive linear rise in the power curve from the start of the ramp right through to the end. Starting out with 250rwhp we moved the yardstick to 402rwhp using 7psi boost pressure (wastegates on minimum setting) through this cars single 2.75inch exhaust system. Its pretty restrictive, but its what the majority of these trucks run, so we left it in place. Still thats 60% more power

The big gains though were to be had in the low rpm torque - exactly where we wanted them - which makes the big truck a tyre frying weapon in second gear roll on full throttle applications. If you look at the dyno curve the Silverado gained over 70% torque at 3000rpm. Thats massive, and gives the GM truck that big powerful jet aircraft feel when you sink the hammer down. Should run a very very easy mid 12

Later this week we will remove the single exhaust, wind the boost up to 12psi and go for that 500rwhp number, which we believe is very easily attainable on a stock 5.3
