supercharger with stock rear end ? sup guys,
I was going to get a Vortec supercharger at speed shop in my area right when i was going to get it the guy told me that i would deffinatly blow my rear end. which is stock 10bolt by the way . Now my question do i have to get a new rear end before i get a supercharger. how many guys are running the stock tranny ? thanks for your help fellas

Re: supercharger with stock rear end ? You don't need a 12 bolt. Unless you plan on putting soe sticky tires on it. There are quite a few of us that have stock rears. The heavy into racing guys have moved to 12 bolts. The stock m6 tranny seems to do good under power, but the 4l60e is another story.
Re: supercharger with stock rear end ? I have a powerdyne, so I don't even make power like a lot of other guys here, but I just dropped in a new one and I'm glad I did. I had to pull the axles on my old rear to get the backing plates off. After I pulled the c-clips, I decided to check the mains. One side was factory tight, the other was barely past hand tight! 
This was on an M6 car with only 13k miles that never saw anything but the stock Firehawks!
I figure a few more trips to the track, and that main would have let go. So that's why I say to get one.

Re: supercharger with stock rear end ? With your current mods, your car will fly with the Vortech kit. Just don't dump the clutch off the line unless you have the $2300 ready for the 12-bolt. Good luck.

My Tahoe with a intercooled Magacharger destroyed the 8.5"10 bolt rearend.I've gone to a built rearend with a Eaton posi rated for 600hp+.You guys are probably making more hp than I am with a smaller 7.5" 10bolt.I think I would be planning the needed mods and avoiding sticky tire until they were made.
