Default Pics of boost gauges/controller in dash vents,T/A

I have no more room on my a-pillar gauge pod for a boost gauge. I want to put one in the center vent. I have an autometer gauge but its to small and does not look right. Who make a gauge or controller that fits better in the T/A vents.
Pics would be great.

Hello i ran into the same problem. I made this myself. Took bout 30 mins. I used a piece of thick plastic. 5'' by 5''
I took a 2'' hole saw and cut the hole. Then you trace the vent "shrouding"(the vent cover that you pulled out) on the piece of plastic in center over the 2'' hole. Take the drummel to the plastic leaving about 1/8'' bigger than vent size. Then i took the piece of plastic to the bench grinder for a "file" fit lol. After you get the piece made and it fits snug run the wires hook everything up and i used "the right stuff" its like a calk you can use it for gaskets. Anyway you put 4 small "dots", top bottom side and other side, a little goes a long way. And your done. The reason i dont put a lot of the right stuff is for 1 that little bit holds. For 2 if you ever need to get it off you wont have to re-make that piece. Hope all this helped.. TJ

Heres another option. I went with dynotune square gauges and they work great for me.

Not a great pic, but:

Eboost2 fits great on the left, on the right is the Dynojet WBC with the remains of the vent louver piece on it to get it to fit. Still looking for a trim piece to cover the gap...

Yep, you need a 2 5/8" sized guage. The eboost boost controllers come in 2 5/8" so they fit perfectly along with autometers 2 5/8". Here are some pics of my set up...

Thanks alot guys. I ended up doing it like 86zboss. I used 3/8 thick black plastic, traced the size of the gauge out,cut it and sanded to fit. Looks really nice. Im using an autolite2 right now because i got it for nothing. I would like to get a boost controller soon.

OK sorry for the rookie questions but how do you install these things in the vents?

How do you pop the vents out without breaking them?

Do you have to remove the dash?

How do you run the wires?

Anyone have an install guide?

they pop out pretty easy with just a screw driver
no you dont have to remove the dash.
the plastic vent that goes into the vent can be pushed aside a little bit, then you just run the wires down where you need them to be.
