That car was a completely different animal than the Commemorative car. It was making over 1300 HP at the wheels, and when Hennessey's TT viper beat them in the standing 1/4 mile (no traction), they decided to set it on kill and see what it would do. It proceeded to spit the pinion gear completely out of the back of the car! That same article showed the car earlier in the day doing a smokey burnout at 125MPH
I wouldn't exactly call that falling apart!!

There is a guy around Westminster that also has a red Lingenfelter. I got to see it at the local speed/sound shop up there. Pretty sweet if there are 2 of them roaming around Maryland.

With that much coin dropped nobody should EVER have to make excuses, but it seems the cars still require them. I guess I'm just not impressed with spending mega-bucks at a high dollar shop if the end result is NOT superior to what MANY people on this very site have built themselves.
