Default SDCE LS1 Tensioner Tool

Is this really needed to install the sdce set-up or can I do without it?

It can be done w/o the tool, but I think it is worth it. You're not supposed to use any kind of a pry bar with the sdce.

Just get it, turns a PITA job into a nothing job. It really should be included with the kits.

Don't break the tensioner like I did. It cost me about 300.00 to fix the broken parts.

yea it looks like a very simple part way over priced, for $700 for the set-up you would think it would come with it

Ya, one would think that it should come with it for the price, but the damn tensioner works good and and I wouldnt be without the tool. They cost what they cost, if there was so much demand for that type of setup someone else would make them.... but there isnt, so we get to pay. Service is good and the parts work, I am happy.

I meant they should just charge 45 more for the kit and include it. It really doesnt matter what it costs in material, I guess a big mac has about 50 cents of 'material' in it yet I dont see many people complaining about paying 3.00 for one

I've been holdin out on y'all... gulp... sorry... my father and i created an aftermarket sdce tensioner tool... the stock one was soo sloppy and sometimes fell off when i tried to tighten the tensioner... my father actually had to go underneath the car and pry a piece of alum. to keep the stock tool on the tensioner...

This is what we made... The tolerences were made smaller... The 9/16 socket we put on was also sloppy so the shaft was extended out a little. Works alot better... And now i got one for the trailer and home

Oh, and it took a lil more than 30min

Well actually Kevin I'm always complaining about how expensive the Big MAC is... I mean how are they able to have a 2 for $2 deal for one month but the rest of the time charge $2.50.. I smell a cover up... haha..

That piece looks like really good quality... Hopefully I'll upgrade to an SDCE sometime in the near future but I have to get everything else fixed on it.. These things are a constant work in progress...

When i was younger it used to be 'change back from a buck' for a McDonalds hamburger, fries and coke. Now the buck covers the tax only

The tool I have looks pretty nasty, but I bet there is an hours worth of welding, cutting and grinding on it so thats why it costs 45.00. If it was made in china it would probably cost around 6.00
