Default Belt slip?

You see the boost line? Is that belt slip? I have the SDCE setup but i keep thinking i have the tensioner on wrong. I have it so it pulles to the passager side. SDCE says it should tighten to the driver side.

But i have the solid steel J bracket. And i looked at the damn thing a million times. There is no way of making it tighten to the driver side unless i modify the tensioner.

Sure looks like my numbers when I'm slipping... Have you asked them for photos of a setup they are referring to?

Are you talking about the dyno numbers or the boost line?

the numbers are low because i have like a HUGE SC pully( i think its almost 5 inches and no cam or LS6 intake only taking it to 5800rpm). Boost is perfect. I want to save my bottem end. What im worried about is the boost curve. Its like a wave.

Boost line. Even with a large pulley, the belt should be so tight that you can strum it like a guitar string. It should make a Ping sound as opposed to a thud.

Not with an SDCE spring tensioner, you can grab the belt and pull it a couple inches with one finger - almost no tension at all.

BigBenz, Post a pic of how you have your belt routed, pretty much only one way to do it and it works.

You have spend some time to ensure that you get the SDCE setup properly. Oddly enough, you can route it a couple different ways, but none work as well as SDCE intends it to be routed.

Listen to what Scott says on routing. If you can't get it to route the way he recommends try a different belt length.

I went through a brief bout where my SDCE was slipping. Turns out my belt had stretched enough to where the tensioner was contacting the bracket support. I listed to Scott, and got the problem resolved.

I run 17 lb/s with the SDCE setup with a D1.

the second way is the right way, you have it wrong. This is how it should be looking at it from the front, I use the same belt from a 4.25 to a 3.4" pulley. I dont have the number handy but if you need it I'll get it but if your blower pulley is that big you will have to use a bigger belt than I am, 4.25" is as big as I can go on this belt.. This is how it works for me with 18psi and and an F1A..

Yes but the tensioner pulls the wrong way to have it routed right. How do i get the tensior to pull the right way. what does pulling out the dust plug do?

I have no idea what you are doing to make it go the other way unless you are going the wrong way with the tensioner tool. Do you have the adjusting tool?

I dont have any real good pics of the SDCE, its hard since its pretty buried. Here are a few pics that may help you out though.

Just take the whole tensioner off and put it the plug part on the other side of the blower (turn it clockwise) and put it back on. Then you need to tension it somehow, honestly I have no idea how to do it without the the tool, never tried myself. I imagine you would have to take the blower off to do it.

Dont you have that black steel strap that bolts to the top of the bracket? That holds the tensioner from going to far when putting some tension on it plus holds it up where you can get a wrench on it to put the belt on.

You will have to take it off and turn it. The tensioner pulley looks odd on that one, did you buy that direct from SDCE? Maybe someone changed the tensioner, I think they only tension in one direction..
