Question New heads...........

I'm new i the FI world and need some good advice, I can't make up my mind on wich heads I want to buy for my ls1. I have recived my aps tt kit and want new heads for this project, but it seems like everybody have their own opinion what is the best way to go. I want to buy the heads that would give me the most bang for the $$$$. I want to run with the standard 348 but with forged parts, I'm also going to run more than 7psi ( dont now how much yet ) so come on give me some input, I really need it.
If there is anybody with heads for sale that would suit my project, I would be interessted to buy
Tnx

317 heads from a 6.0 pickup would be your best bang for the buck. They flow OK & will drop your compression to help you run more boost.

If your going to buy, I would look at any of the heads with a thicker deck, AFR/TFS/ETP.

I am also selling my AFR 72cc 225's brand new in the box for $2K...

Patriot stage 3 LQ9's. How much boost are you looking to run?

Dont now how much boost I am going to run, but I want be mapping the engine many times. If you say I will be running the boost I need to get 700-750 rwhp dont think I will be running any more.

Well with a forged 348, proper fuel system, proper tuning, and maybe some meth you could definately hit 700 rwhp. A forged 348 with lq9's, a decent turbo cam, ls6 intake mani, meth injection and good fuel system running 14-15psi is capable of the power levels your looking for.

I have bought the aps tt kit, bbk ssi intake, professionall products 85mm tb, Lingenfelter LS1-GT7 cam, still need the heads, aeromotive eliminator pump etc etc, and dont now if I am going to build my self a custom aluminum fuelcell or buy one. Haven't given a meth system any tought's yet ( do I need one ? ).
I would have to say the patriot heads looks like a good deal, I dont now how much deck hight is "needed" to be on the safe side to run 14-15 psi, or .................................................. .......
Come on do some brainstorming

Looks like you have a good list of parts there! A meth system is always a good idea when running a lot of boost (15+ psi) as it helps protect against detonation and keep your IAT's low. Also, there a quite a few guys putting down huge numbers with the LQ9's so they should be fine.

Here is an example of what LQ9's can handle too.

I'll give Gunnar at patriot performance a call today to check what he has to say. Maybe he is from Norway, his first name is for sure. I agree all the things you have said about the lq9 heads, checked many other treads and they say just about the same all of them, great heads
Tnx
