Thanks.

More questions:
-Gap at .035?
-I have a 50mm BOV...it says on the STS site something about 9-11 pounds...does this mean the BOV wont make a sound unless I'm running a minimum of 9 pounds?
-Is there a way to tell your turbo size by the housing it came in? Mine came in a .86 AR(I THINK), and I'm thinking there is a very slight chance I may have gotten an upgraded turbo.

th spring pressure is to keep the valve closed under idling/cruising has nothing to do with "noise" the more boost you run the louder and higher pitched the it will become.

I'm not talking about the turbo noise, I'm talking about the blowoff valve noise.

so am i, the more boost you run the louder the bov gets and the higher the pitch, yuo are moving more air through the same size openening.

I've ran a tial 50mm at close to 40psi it was a totally different sound blowing off than at 20

On the STS site it says the blowoff valve is a "9-11" pounds of boost valve. I'm asking if I ahve to be running at least 9 pounds of boost before the valve functions.

Thanks. :-)

The answer is no... The way that the BOV works is off of vacuum... It's not 9-11psi of boost... It's 9-11 inches of vacuum.. That way if you let off it will blow out the BOV because all of the pressure is going to hit the throttle plate and then exit out... If you don't have a BOV (with an M6 for sure) it will go back to your supercharger/turbo and eventually hurt it... So the answer is you're fine... Just hook it up right and you're ready to go...

if you look at the tial site they have a chart that has Engine vacuum and what spring you are suppose to use with a specific vacuum. it has nothing to do with how much boost you run.
