15lbs of boost on pump gas?

15lbs of boost on pump gas? My buddy and his buddy, who are huge in to Grand Nationals, are yelling at me to install a 15lb pulley. I currently have a 12lb pulley on and it works fine on pump gas. I am about to install a NOS wet kit and would like to know what is safer.
My buddy and his buddy says I can run 15lbs and pump gas. He should know he had a 10.20s daily driver, when it started going in the 9s he drove it on the weekend, AC, power steering, and everything else.
Has anyone done it? I am going to stay on pump gas. It will either have a smaller pulley on it or a 50 shot in a week( I have a heads, cam, and juice F-body to race).
P.S. This is getting as bad as my old nitrous addiction. Greed=

6.0 motor's are 9.4:1 comp.
Anyways, I think that 15lbs would be okay...I guess you could try it and see if you get any detonation...good luck

Re: 15lbs of boost on pump gas? Well i would be a little scared, if you did have the 9.4:1 that doesnt seem low enough for the 15psi on pump. Only way to tell is autotap it and see if you get knock.
Remember what works with other peoples car might not work with ours so be alittle causious listening to your buddy.

Re: 15lbs of boost on pump gas? Thanks alot for all the replies. Since I already have the spray, I think I will try that first. I figure the 50 shot will be as safe as anything else and will add about the same amount of power as the different pulley.
I looking for a Viper or Z06 killer. When it is 85 degrees outside I can put about 3 cars on a M6 bolt-on SS, from 70 to 120. Hopefully, this will help me out alittle more.

My, My......I must say that you have more ***** than me. My grand cherokee gets pretty squirrely at anything above 105. I'd only take a sports car higher.

Re: 15lbs of boost on pump gas? I got the limiter set at 140, my tires are only rated to 132. I have only hit it once. My truck is low and heavy. After that I got to thinking, that if I am not winning at 120 I sure as hell am not going to win at 140. After all I am pushing a brick though the air. So a little after 120 I shut it down.
