There only function is appearance and there also good to lean on while working on the car. I have repaired cars that had the front unitized rails completely folded sideways from collisions and the strut towers still within factory spec. The fourth gen F-bodys are very structurally stable and dont need a STB. There are a lot of cars like the Mustangs that can make use of one but the fourth gen F-body isnt one of them.

SFC's however are a great addition to any F-body reguardless.

I bought a section of aluminum pipe from ebay and had the Tial flange tig welded to it. It replaced the factory ATI tube that connected the rubber hose.

The optimum location is on the plenum but I thought it looked cleaner this way and it worked great. With the ATI supplied BPV the gear case was being pressurized and pushing oil past the seal.
