new to turbos opinion on setup
new to turbos opinion on setup I currently am running a NA 355 lt1 with forged pistons, cam and ported heads/intake. I ran across a website with a turbo kit really cheap and was wondering what you guys thought about it...i realize that this isnt complete but might be a good begining. I have had experience in carburated blowthrough superchargers but not much in regards to fuel injection forced induction. Also wondering what other components I would need.

Yep, bought a turbo from them just to check it out...absolute trash. Apparently few have run them and they claim to work great... I don't personally know of these people, but the ones I do know, blow the hell apart.

Dont waste your money on junk like that. Spend the extra money on a quality turbo kit. Do it once, do it right. Those Ebay turbos from SSAutochrome, XSpower, Masterpower, etc.. are hit or miss. Ive know alot of guys that have literally had them come apart on them within a few hundred miles, and I know of others that have had decent luck and running them for a while... but Im not going to leave something like that up to chance. Some guys I know have bought the kits and used the piping, and then just bought a good turbo, but even with that, usually the flanges need machined because they are not perfectly flat. I have nothing against trying to save some cash here and there, but IMO this isnt the area to skimp on.

Sorry, not what I meant to type. SSautochrome used to sell turbos on ebay badged under another name which was very similar to master power, I forget exactly what the name was at the moment. May have just been MP or something like that.
well honestly I was only somewhat interested in a turbo setup....i just happened to run across it and noticed how cheap it was. it would be for a mild-moderate build running on pump gas and able to be driven on the streets somewhat reliably.
