You mean like the stock F body setup?

No, I have a stock f-body setup right now. Problem with the stock setup is it relies on vacuum in the cooling system at cool down to draw the water from the overflow back into the radiator. Surge tanks do not.

No great pics here. They wouldn't let me get close to shoot around the wall.

wow sweet pics guys! thanks

i was the blonde dude.... with the cape and the crown on (jk)

kp i do think that these gaskets in the hands of a lighter vehicle could do noticeably better than i, and i feel good that they are better than the oem offerings.

i didnt push a drop until i insisted on going over 20psi which was allready running me over 151mph at my weight.. that could be 160mph worth of head sealing on a 3300# car without moving a drop

I'm going to see what happens with the new GM 5 layer gaskets and the supposedly stronger LS2 block and these new stouter looking heads. Easy enough to change if they dont work.

So how does a surge tank work? Does it stay pressurized once coolant (and pressure) enter it?

I'm suprised no ones tried welding heads down......You could just lay about 1"-1.5" of weld at the 6 o'clock position of the cylinder. It could be ground off for removal.

BTW, I wasn't serious there...

Wow, great job! If you can get your 60' down you'll run a number. At that mph I ran 8.6's Very cool set up!

If you want start another thread about surge tanks and we can discuss it in detail. If you welded it down there it would probably move more water
