how much boost on stock ls1
i bought a sts turbo kit with a t-67 turbo and was just wondering how much boost i could safely run. i have an a4 that shifts around 5500 if that matters.
can you run 6 or 7 #s without the injection kit?
can i use my stock injectors and just upgrade the fuel pump...or can i just use stock injecs and pump if i only run 5 #s?
any input and suggestions would be great. thank you

I believe 4-5psi if its not intercooled. Maybe 5-6psi if it is intercooled. If the car is stock you should have done the supporting bolt-ons before buying that remote setup. I'd recommend doing some sort of fuel setup; injectors, fuel pump, etc.

I would seriously recommend injectors and fuel pump and good tuning, I was boosting max about 7-8psi with no ic but after the intercooler ive boosted 12 psi several times and even 14psi rarely.

I wouldn't push past 6psi without an intercooler.... You can boost 8-10psi, but that's not even safe. People have boosted 12 pounds, but have eventually fried a piston or snapped a rod.

i am trading my 05 6speed gto for a 01 ss camaro 6-speed with 29k miles that is pulling 6.88 pounds of boost. Rwhp is 538, and has extensive amount of work 12bolt, loops, transmission clutch, etc.. the car has a stock bottom end (pistons and crank) will the car be ok? Does have came, ported heads, roller rockers, tit push rods.. I just want to drive the car as a daily driver, will it be ok set at 6.88 pounds of boost - and will i have to worry about building the stcok bottom end up? Dont want to dump money into it- just want to drive it.. any people knowledgeable about this psc1 and a stock bottom end??

I know a guy running around here back home who is putting 9 PSI with his turbo plus a h/c package from TSP on a stock bottom end in a 04 GTO. But then again he knows how to tune his stuff.

the car also has a fuel system is all aftermarket supports 1200hp. The car is a D1SC procharged with twin intercooled.. the tune is really laid back.. I think it will be ok. So what do you guys think- im givin up my 05stick gto and 4k for his 27k 01ss with 12bolt- procharged, twin intercooled. wilwood brakes, frame tied, 1k harmonic ballancer, spec 4 cluch, basically everything.. budnick racing wheels,hd driveshaft, etc. etc..

Buddy has been running his sts 60 not 67 turbo at 5psi for awhile now. He has 42 pound injectors and stock fuel pump has not installed racetronix pump yet and no boost a pump. I would for sure go to pump and 42s or 60s if you want to go much past 5psi. Also would not go much past 7 or 8 psi unless youi change out for say larger chamber heads like patriot 72cc for example. Drop compression and 10 psi or so should be fine.
I have seen two sets of blown ringlands both on lt1 cars but pretty sure the pistons are same crappy design on ls1 and lt1 cars. Better to not be greedy. Of course it would be nice to have an intercooler or meth /alc injection for extra safety. In my experience intercooler is more effective at higher speeds like highway and alc works at any speed.
Don't get greedy on stock engine unless you can afford a new one. Most times it some errror on boost. The one lt1 was blown with procharger when guy tightened up his belt or something to stop slip and hit a few pounds over what he normally ran. The other lt1 sts car blew from not using the electronic boost controller correctly.

Oh in my last post wanted to clarify. My aps twin kit is not installed currently. Got it too late to install this season so its next year spring now. I am planning on forged motor but if put it on the stock engine very likely would leave it at 7.5 stock gate spring settings.
Again not going to be greedy with stock pistons.
