Damn.. That's insane. Low timing defenitly is the key... I'm going to build my own single, or just buy the APS. Help me decide. I'm wanting it to be a street car. (A/C) I would have purchased the APS twin setup already, BUT I need to find out more about their turbo's (compressor size etc.) My motor = 408 9.0:1 CR

I don't have to feel it. I can check it via knock sensors and plugs... no detonation. 18 deg of timing. That was on twin 70mm turbos. I just took the car down to install the twin 76s. Expect a little more now...

I made an easy 735rwhp at 6000rpm on a Dynapack in June 06. Very safe tune, pump gas only.

Id say it would have made more, as no doubt my newfound weak valvesprings where in fact causing issues even back then.

382, 224/230 on 115, Vortech YSi blower, circa 15psi at 6000rpm

I think the weak valvesprings are the reason power was actually dropping after 6000rpm.

914 rwhp on 14.5 lbs, 93 octane and no meth. Never re-dynoed it when I turned it up to 18 lbs.

Compression does play a big factor, but I guess it depends if you want to give it a lot of boost and have less low end grunt you can lower it to 8.0:1

I am subcribing to this thread. I love this crap!

By the way... Tiago is all custom. His car is completely insane. He's also a very cool dude who doesn't mind answering bonehead questions. haha

Its going to be about making the power more with the motor than the boost. Running methanol injection can let you up the boost levels safely and still run pump (93 octane) gas, but even then you will only be able to do so much consistantly and safely (meaning you might run 900 RWHP for a while on pump gas, but I doubt you see 50,000 miles out of the motor before a rebuild).

Personally I am running 15#'s of boost and 614 RWHP on my LT1 car in my sig all on pump gas, and am running safely enough I expect to see 100,000+ miles out of the motor.

My vette made 809rwhp w/a 408ci/paxton sc and 16lbs. Drove it 3k miles w/zero issues. Cooler weather came along and boost went to 18/19lbs and started lifting heads... Twin 70's going into the T/A 408ci right now. Should be tuning by next week if I get the exhaust housings in. Hoping for 800 at minimum on pump gas through the TH400. Car weighs in at 3100lbs, so should be a fun ride!
