FRONT mount, LS1, Patriot Stage2 heads, 214/200 .600/.523 115 LSA (might change it for "bigger"), LS6 intake manifold, 80mm BBK TB.
M6 as of now, but will be auto. stock weight. 12 bolt with 3.73 gears.
So all these factors really play such a major role in deciding on turbo? There's not many choices anyway from what I read - 76mm would be too small, FI.com recommends ST80. Although I'm thinking about new TC78 now, for better spool-up on street
I'm not used to meth injection, maybe I'll use it if I can find it here, but only on the strip, not street

Hey zombie I have a question about you cold pipeing size . From the turbo to the intecooler what size is it I beleve I saw you posted somewhere that it was 2.5 to the intercooler .
Just wondering if thats true when did you ditch the stock 2 1/4 sts piping in your timeline ? I am doing the pipeing myself but got the stock sts pipe for the midddle of the car but so I was thinking of running 2 1/4 to the mid pipe then reducing it up to 2 1/2 to the intecooler then up to 3" out of the intercooler . Do you think that would be to restrictive with a TC76

We believe my piping size 2.25 and 2.5 to the IC is restricting me from going faster. I never got rid of the original STS pipe that acts as a subframe. That will eventually happen. I don't know how it's going to be done though. I'd go to the largest pipe(s) I could fit.

Isn't it based on physics though if your hot pipe is 2x the size of your cold pipe air should move faster to the turbo so the bigger you make your cold pipe the slower air will move to the turbo and then cause slower spooling, but in turn more boost because of the bigger cold pipe?

Cool man thanks . Arent you running an ST80 now I am going to be running a tc76 And if I run a 10.15 I will be pretty happy plus if you correct for the much better da I will be running in I definetly be happy .
Thanks again for the info

Has anyone ceramic coated there whole exhaust and heat wrapped it?
Or used mild steel for the exhaust? Im sure it would hold in more heat than alum....Anything that is bad at dissipating heat could help out
I like the idea somone posted of a ventri in the y pipe for more flow

I used Swain Tech coated all hot parts and wrapped. Make big different.
383ci with 85mm turbo with 1.18 a/r . 5" exhaust. turbo start to spơol at 3400rpm and make full bơost at 4500rpm thru a 6 spêed tranny. Hit 20psi 4500rpm at 4th gear fêel awsome.

Maybe putting a heat blanket would help even more?

Coating does not hold up under wrap if it will ever get wet. Coating also does not like wrap where it gets pretty hot, like the first 5" of headers and the collectors. Whenever I've done wrap over Jet-Hot, it flakes then rusts. Coat or wrap - IMO, wrapping is more efficient, coating is prettier.

Yes, I ve done the fabrication on zombies car and several others......Yes I have wrapped lt's ...........yes it helps a lot. Is it best no. I will not build a turbo car with lt's...I just wont. Ive done a lot of testing.....If I do someones car, I do it right, or I wont do it. The best is a coated and wrapped short header, but look at the OB racing car, 6.0 manifolds gong high7's on a front mount.
Part of the problem with builds, is a competent builder being forced into going one direction or most likely not even knowing the entire combination, and not getting the outcome wanted because of other circumstances. You can have the coolest turbo system in the world, but if you have the wrong injectors, no diagnostics, the wrong plug gap, the wrong compression for the fuel, the wrong gears, the wrong trans, the wrong convertor, the wrong tires, the other stuff suffers.
Zombies car has more in it, because he doesnt give much attention to other aspects of the car, he hasnt needed too, but its getting to that point.

I'm installing STS w/GT70. Currently have Pacesetter LT's, 3" Y-pipe and SLP Catback(before STS). I have an 04' Z06 cam and CNC'd 317's. If I decided to go back to stock manifolds, which Y-pipe and I-pipe would you suggest I get? 2.5"? Where can I get them?/Where'd you get yours? (I don't have the stock Y or I-pipes) I also planned to wrap exhaust, and I have a turbo blanket. What do you think about my setup? Man, you rock. You've done a lot of leg work that us "turbo rookies" and "poor guys" can't afford to do. lol.
