110 LSA for a procharged setup???
110 LSA for a procharged setup??? Im looking for some opinions on this. Last week i was given the specs of 226/234 110 LSA .560s for what is supposed to be my daily driven 383 Procharged LT1.
Heres the setup:
Fully built 383 LT1 w/ported Trick Flow heads and Intake
Compstar crank/rods/ Ross custom blower piston
Engine should sit around 8.7:1 compression
Jesel Sportsman shaft mount rockers
Procharger running 12-16 lbs on the street w/ front mount intercooler
3400 Vig Converter in a beefed up 4L60e
Now this is a proven shop that i respect, but a 110 LSA seems to go against the norms of a forced induction camshaft. They say it is one that seems to work best for them based on past experiences and they do it because of the relatively short duration. And their cars DO RUN fast. Im just looking for your opinions guys? Any input is appreciated. Keep in mind the goal of this setup is also to be my DAILY DRIVEN car....

I would think that your Lobe sep.would be a little wider.A 113 or 114. I have seen them as much as a 115 Lobe sep. That tight of a lobe sep. Just dosn't seem like a long enough time to keep the valve's closed to be useful on a blower setup.

Thats the consensus on a blower motor....dont want to get air flowing through when both valves are open and bleed off boost. However these guys have some very respectable cars out there (mostly NA though) so i was just seeing if anyone else had tried out this kind of cam.

The Aussies runs lots of cams like that in blower applications. They seem to make stupid power with them.

I ran 110, Jeff gilberts set up went 9.0 was capable of high 8s for sure had 109, Z8s had 108.5 on his when he had the YSI.

I wouldnt sweat it. FWIW I ran 8.90s with a 115LSA cam and I bet it would run 8.90s with the same cam @ 110LSA. I just dont like the power steering killing the car when I turn the wheels and its idling 
Lower compression and somewhat small CID and low end tractability wont be ideal but if you are driving the car now then I say leave it in. As far as average power output in the usable RPM range I doubt there would be a huge difference between a few degrees of LSA.
You will have guys argue this on both ends of the LSA spectrum and both will make decent power. Camshafts are cheap and easy to swap, try a few different cams, thats what I do
